If you’re visiting LA anytime soon and looking to hear some of the best local bands on a budget, we’ve got a list of free venues you can attend. Contrary to popular belief, you can plan affordable night out and hear some of the best tunes in LA. Below is a list of places you can attend to hear live bands for free.

The Satellite

If you’re into Indie rock, The Satellite in the Silver Lake neighborhood of LA offers free, live music every Monday night. Many well-known local bands play here, and the Silversun Pickups even rocked out at this club before blowing up! For more information, go here.

Whiskey a Go Go

For hard rock fans, the Whiskey a Go Go in Hollywood offers a free weekly Tuesday night event. The house band features Chuck Right from Quiet Riot, and provides four hours of nonstop rock n roll with some A-list legends rocking the house. To check this event out, go here.

Lucky Strike Lounge

Funk lovers can unite for free weekly on Fridays at the Lucky Strike Lounge in West Hollywood. Each week, this event offers a fantastic house band and highlights several local funk guest vocalists for a great time that will have you jamming all night long. To check this event out, go here.

The Varnish

The Varnish, in downtown Los Angeles, offers free admission nights every Sunday-Tuesday to show off a slew of local jazz talent.
